Volunteers in Public Service – VIPS
Give of your time and talents AND make new friends. Volunteer and help your community thrive. Join the City of Lake Worth by volunteering at a host of recreational events, reading to children at the Lake Worth Library, answering phones, and so much more.
It is easy to volunteer – fill out an application detailing:
The talents you would like to use, the departments you would like to work in, and the days and hours you are available.
A background check will be completed, followed by a mandatory drug screening test – at no charge to you. Volunteers will be issued a City of Lake Worth Volunteer Card and establish a convenient work schedule with the Department Director.
The City of Lake Worth has a number of advisory boards which provides assistance to the City Commission. Most meet once a month and only require a few hours of a volunteer's time. All members are selected by the Mayor and City Commission. To apply for a role on an advisory board please fill out and return this application.
Board meetings are open to the public.
